Kenya and Tanzania Sign Bilateral Energy Agreement at State House Dar es Salaam
The Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, and his Tanzanian counterpart, Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi signed a bilateral agreement between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of Kenya at State House, Dar es Salaam, in the presence of His Excellency President William Ruto and Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The agreement provides for the conduct of a feasibility study for the development of a Natural Gas Export Project from Dar es Salaam to Mombasa. It marks a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, deepening cross-border infrastructure collaboration, and advancing regional integration. The initiative is expected to unlock new opportunities for investment and trade while enhancing energy security and supporting sustainable economic growth in both countries.
